South Sudan Mission

I will start up this blog for a while to tell you a little about the ongoing Ericsson Response mission in South Sudan. Internet coverage has not been very good the first but now I'm on one of the networks that we are providing  so I hope it will get better now.

So, here we go. I'm a part of the fourth team going here. All four planned sites are now up and running with satellite dishes, access controllers, network controllers and a few WiFi access points each. We are serving UN WFP, UN HCR and more than 50 NGO:s including World Vision International, Rädda Barnen och Amnesty.
The team gathered for the first time, on the airport in Addis Abeba.

The cafeteria at the WFP compound in Juba. Rice, beans, spenach and some meat stew. Quite OK but to be repeated every day thereafter.
Caroline on the left is our very own Birgitta; she handles admin support and coordination of the project.

Rock City, for a while also known as "home sweat home". Located in the mountains above the WFP compound.

Handover from Mino and Fei in the previous team.

And outside the vultures are waiting for those who fail...

To be continued....
